2007
The Red State Project has started their mix! Director Roland Tec, Merle Perkins and I co-wrote the title song and grabbed some great perfomances from Merle both on and off-screen! I'm looking forward to seeing the final cut!
2006
We Are All Connected the Berklee College of Music Darfur benefit CD was not only a real pleasure to work on but allowed me to meet Jesse and Arielle Hayes, who are very talented songwriters and Abria Smith who is an exciting poet. Although we started in 2005 we finally saw the CD release and mastering this year! You can find the CD for sale in all the usual places. Our cut, Love Myself Instead is the first track and begins with some incredible strings played by my long time friends the Hawthorne String Quartet. I had fun producing this piece I hope you enjoy listening to it!
Prison Pups Alice Bouvrie finished another documentary this year and this time she asked me to produce her sessions with local legend Chris Smither. Alice's relationship with WGBH allowed us to record at the 'GBH studios with engineer Jane Pipik. Look for one song done with Jesse and Arielle Hayes about halfway through the film.
2005
The Life and Times of Frida Kahlo is an incredible documentary by long time editor Amy Stechler. The images are gorgeous and the film finally makes sense out of Frida's art, life and relationship with Diego Rivera. I was fortunate to record some of the best musicians in Mexico City for the score. It has been showing on local PBS stations so keep an eye out for it.
TGMT - The Gay Marriage Thing is a documentary directed by first time filmmaker Stephanie Higgins. The film offers an insight to the days leading up to May 17, 2004 when gay and lesbian civil marriages were legalized in Massachusetts. It is showing at film festivals around the country.
2004
Silver City is a John Sayles political lampoon. Mason Daring's score is wonderful! I signed on as music editor and I've heard, once again, some well chosen score and source music. You should look for this film in theaters later in the year.
2003
America's Prince will be showing on Fox/TBS throughout the year. I had the honor of music editing for Mason Daring's score. You can also hear the song Your Love Keeps Me Alive that I co-wrote with Claire Harding.
Casa de Los Babys is John Sayles latest film. What a wonderful cast! There are some great moments in this film, you really should get out to see it. I was happy to sign on as music editor for Mason Daring's score and the source music they utilized is wonderful. The soundtrack is a must-have if you enjoy incredibly thoughtful and well performed indie-Latin fare. Look for it at your local independent theater during the fall.
No Secret Anymore with score by Claire Harding is playing the independent film festival circuit. I had a great time as arranger on this film.
Frontline is sporting an updated title package. Be sure to catch it this season with edits done to the still powerful original orchestral theme by Mason Daring.
January 2003
I had the honor of working up an arrangement of the Star Spangled Banner for the Boston City Singers that they sang during Boston Mayor Menino's State of the City Address. Bravo to this youth choir and their director Jane Money for a memorable and unique performance. I'll try to post a recording on the music page if one is available.
June 2003
SURPRISE! The Asheron's Call video game decided to use some of my music in their website promo trailers. The cuts work very well, I'll see if I can post them to the music page as well as a link to the trailer.

Secrets of the US Mint continues to be shown on the Discovery Channel, Produced by Harry Gural (and Elizabeth Benjes). This was a fun score featuring a lot of guitar played by my friend Stephen Webber. Did you know that those malformed coins are worth a lot of money? Maybe you should watch just so you can see that the penny jar is really worth something...
Look for Home Before Dark on Lifetime. Written and Directed by Maureen Foley, this score is one of my favorites. An indie film starring Katherine Ross and Patricia Calember. Original music by Jeanine Cowen and two great songs by Jonatha Brooke.
Sporting Dog is scheduled for programming on PBS this year. Check your local listings. Directed by Peter Kelley, Produced by Stephen Stapinski. Music by Jeanine Cowen. A real change for me (thanks Peter) some dark moody jazz.
December 2002
Rapt - Roland Tec's award winning play opened to rave reviews at The Culture Project, NYC. If you are in town you should definitely stop by for a show. The music is ecclectic and fun and I had the honor of sound design duties as well!
The
Urban Nutcracker plays again at the Strand Theater. We've reworked even more of the classical and jazz favorites. If you missed it last year be sure to get your tickets early!
May 2002
New York PowerUp Showcase will be screening Breaking Up Really Sucks. This is a funny, well put together short. Claire and I had a fine time working on this score, you should go just to hear the end credits...
February 21, 2002
Los Angeles PowerUp Showcase will be screening Breaking Up Really Sucks. See info at right... Hey, if you go, make sure to give Jen and Rosser a big hug for me...
2001
Home Before Dark was selected as the only appropriate television material to show on Boston's PBS affiliate, WGBH on September eleventh. It was an honor to be associated with this project.
December 21-22, 2001
For those of you in the Boston area, come and see The
Urban Nutcracker at the Strand Theater. Anthony Williams Artistic Director. This is shaping up to be a great ballet, dancers of all shapes, sizes, colors, etc. Not your ordinary Nutcracker! I'm working as the Music Director pulling together a score combining classic Tchaikovsky with Duke Ellington and even a few JMC adaptations!
December
